Central Client Merge includes two options to identify clients that may be duplicates, Browser Client List and Browse Ranked Matches. Browse Client List includes options to search for clients and select them as potential matches. Browse Ranked Matches uses the Client Matching Setup setting to determine how close of a match clients are. The Browse Client List option is useful when the clients' URN fields are significantly different. An example would be two copies of the same client record, where one client record uses a nickname as the first name and a married name as the last name, while the other record uses a clients birth first and last name.

 

To use the Browse Client List option to add clients to the merge client list, follow these instructions:

 

  1. Log into Central Administration.

  2. Click Administrative Options.

  3. Click Data Oversight.

  4. Click Client Merge.

  5. Click Browse Client List.

 

 

  1. Check each of the two clients deemed a potential match.

 

 

 

  1. Click Flag Matched Pair.

 

Once the clients are flagged, they are added to the Merge Client list.

 

 

Until the clients are merged or the clients are unflagged as duplicates, they are excluded from the Browse Client List. These two clients need to be merged, before any one of them can be merged with another record.

 

If records need to be reviewed prior to flagging them as a matched pair, click on one of the clients and click View Client Details.
