Run Performance Measures

Performance measures are evaluated by running them for a provider to get a count of clients that meet the sample (denominator), meet the criteria of the measure (numerator), and what percentage of clients meet the criteria of the measure. Performance measures can be evaluated individually, in groups, for a single provider, or for multiple providers.

 

Note: When evaluating performance measures for multiple providers, it is important to distinguish if the calculations should be based on data entered in those providers or if shared data should be included. HRSA defined performance measures have the subfilter Cross-Provider set to No by default, which excludes shared data for those filters.

 

Example: In the HRSA defined performance measures CORE 01 HAB: HIV viral load suppression, the denominator includes a filters Visits by Service Category in Date Span, set to review clients that had at least one Outpatient Ambulatory Health Service within the last 12 months. When the CORE 01 performance measure is run for a single provider, only clients that had OAHS services from that provider are included in the denominator. For the numerator, the filter for viral load suppression also only counts clients that received their labs in the provider that is evaluating the measure. If clients with viral load labs from other providers should be included, data sharing settings need to be enabled and the subfilter Cross-Provider should be set to Yes.

 

Here are instructions for managing data sharing settings.

 

To evaluate performance measures, follow these instructions:

 

  1. Click Reports.

  2. Click Performance Measures.

  3. Click Run Performance Measures.

 

 

  1. Check one or more measures to be evaluated.

  2. Click Evaluate Selected.

 

 

 

  1. Select an As of Date.

  2. Click Open in New Tab.

  3. Click View Report.

 

The report results appear in a new tab in this format.

 

 

Selected Providers – In Central Administration, this option allows a performance measure to be evaluated for several providers at once.

Open in New Tab – Produces the results in a new tab in the browser.

PDF – Produces the results in PDF format in a new tab in the browser.

Save to My Reports – Adds the run performance measures settings to the users My Reports menu. Here are instructions for My Reports.

 

 

Run Performance Measures includes an option to run previously saved groups of performance measures using performance measure groups, which can be reviewed here.

 

Performance Measure Groups includes the HIVQM format required for reporting the results of these measures to HRSA.
