Hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, and other screening labs are part of the clinical data management in CAREWare 6. The data is used for Clinical Quality Management and other Ryan White requirements. Screening labs may also be used for the Client Summary and Provider Summary in CAREWare.
Standard and Custom Screening Labs in CAREWare
The most common screening labs are built into CAREWare, including:
- Chlamydia
- Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
- Epstein Barr Virus (EBV)
- Genital Herpes
- Gonorrhea
- Hepatitis A, B, and C screening labs
- Human Papillomavirus (Genital Warts)
- IGRA
- MMR
- Non-Specific Urethritis
- Syphilis
- Toxoplasma IgG Antibody
- Varicella (Chicken Pox)
Provider-specific and custom labs are added in Screening Lab Setup under Administrative Options > Clinical Setup.
How to Add Screening Labs to a Client Record
1. Click on Screening Labs in the left menu of the client record.
2. Click Add.
View: View details of an existing screening lab record.
Add: Add a new screening lab record.
Delete: Delete an existing screening lab record.
HL7 Source: View the HL7 holding tank record of a screening lab entry.
Back: Return to the Client Summary.
Help: Access the user guide for screening labs.
Print or Export: Print or export a list of screening lab records.
Hide/Show Columns: Select the columns for the list of screening lab records.
3. Enter the date of the screening lab.
4. Select the screening lab from the dropdown list. Shorten the dropdown list by entering the first letters of the name of the screening lab.
The following screening field is required for the following question in the RSR:
Date = Q.55 Client was screening for syphilis during this reporting period
Tip
View the full list of labs by paging through the results.
5. Complete the Result for the screening lab. Comment is optional.
6. Click Save.
Tip
Use Save and Add to enter multiple screening labs in the client record.
